My first reaction to Joe Biden’s victory was relief. Relief from Donald Trump’s outrageous and obnoxious behaviour and the damage he has done at home and abroad – from climate change denial, the Israeli/Palestinian situation, the growing danger of antidemocratic authoritarian governments, undermining international organisations and alienating US allies in the world. However, as it became clear that almost 74 million voters supported Trump, an ‘Oh My God!’ was called for.
